From Press Coverage to Prototype Updates

Development Progress & Taipei Cycle Coverage

Greetings, Renegades!

We’ve regrouped since the last update, and we’re charging hard on all fronts. From global showcases to prototype tweaks, here’s the latest on Renegade—and what’s coming down the trail.

v3 Prototypes: Setting the Stage

Our v3 Outlaw crank prototypes rolled out with refined adjustments based on feedback from our core testers. We checked off the magnet feature, paving the way for Smart.Shift and MGU systems compatibility. The Renegade logo now stamps each crank with our community-driven identity. These prototypes were rushed out just in time—less than five days before the Taipei Cycle Show—setting up v3.1 refinements.

Taipei Cycle Show 2025

In March, we hit the Taipei Cycle Show 2025 with our Outlaw cranks on display at two spots: Stevie Lin’s Tripping Balls—a steel full-suspension trail bike—and my own personal rig for extra exposure. Stevie’s creation stole the show, pulling in crowds and media alike in a sea of carbon and alloy frames, with sensible features that riders have been shouting at manufacturers for.

Media Spotlight

Stevie’s Tripping Balls put Renegade in the spotlight across top cycling outlets:

  • Pinkbike: See the feature – Dedicated a full article to the bike, spotlighting our CNC-machined Outlaw cranks, available in 150mm, 155mm, 160mm, and 165mm lengths.
  • GMBN Tech: Watch the video – Showcased our cranks’ cohesive aesthetic with the raw steel frame and tough look that screams mountain biking.
  • YANGMFG: Check it out – Featured the cranks in the background during a segment with Stevie Lin.
  • The Radavist: Take a look – Highlighted the bike’s stunning steel frame with detailed photos, our cranks in clear view.

v3.1 Prototypes: The Next Evolution

With v3 out the door, we’ve shifted gears to the v3.1 prototypes, now in manufacturing. This iteration focuses on manufacturability, robustness, and fine-tuned dimensions—built to take a beating. Rider testing kicks off mid-May 2025, so keep an eye on our social media for updates as these cranks hit the trails.
